25 Commandments for Home Based IT Workers (Part 1)
Nowadays you wouldn’t have to go abroad to work for employers abroad. Home based and telecommute jobs are getting bigger and so the needs for more workers continuous to surge. However, not all got what it takes to stay long in this new industry. If you want to become successful in a home based IT job, take the following tips:
1. Get familiar with your market. There are a lot of online services that you can offer. Some of these are web and graphics designing, programming, and data encoding. You’ll know your market by answering this question, “What’s your specific realm of skill that you can use for online IT employment?” If you have several skills, focus on the one that best interests you. Choosing your interest would give you more enthusiasm, inventiveness, and energy needed for a successful online career.
2. Know your clients. Find out your clients’ needs, as well as their preference. Determine what kind of people seek the kind of service you offer. This would help you determine how to get their approval. Get to know also their tradition and custom beliefs to know how you’ll talk to them and understand their needs more. If you want to maintain a good business relationship with them, take effort in doing them better.
3. Know your competitors. The best way to beat your enemies is to know them very well. Determine the quality of their products or services, methods, targets, as well as their strengths and weaknesses. This is for you to have a clear grasp on how to surpass what they offer. With the availability of internet, you won’t need to sweat too much for a friendly spy. Nevertheless, respect others intellectual property. You could think of innovation you can make to beat what they offer.
4. Know your price. Simple to hear but a bit hard to accomplish. As a matter of fact, many fell to this shortcoming. Many home based IT workers sell good services to a low price. This is because they didn’t take a research. Aiming to get clients and employers, they offer their service in a cheap price. They don’t know that there are many people out there who badly needs their service and would pay the true value of the service.
