This third part of the article lists the rest of the steps you need to follow for account creating and managing with the aid of File Transfer Protocol.

  • You can simply observe that working with locally stored files is closely related to working with remote files. You may use the right-click menu in renaming, creating new folders, pasting, copying, and cutting of files as you hold down Ctrl in choosing several numbers of files. For advanced users, a few additional options are given.
  • To get a progress update you may choose the tab for Queue if you are to download or upload large number of files. During the current session, on the location where the local and remote file panels are, there is the activity log which records file history. Through dragging the frame upwards, you can make it taller
  • You may choose ‘Synch Directories’ after selecting the Tools menu that is if you want to see the files and run a website on your local PC. This is to ensure that your website uses exact copies of the locally stored content and help you to identify differences which let you compare sizes and names of files.
  • You may find it of use in setting up a ‘Home’ directory which makes it sure that it is the start of a File Transfer Protocol session at the specified remote and local locations if you need to work with several folders. As you move around, to ensure that both directories follow each other, you may also use the option for the ‘Keep directories in sync’.
  • At some point, you just need a single File Transfer Protocol visit. Take note that FireFTP offers ‘Quick Connect’ to save time of setting up a login file for that website on your list of accounts. You don’t have to store or save your login information because the system allows you a one-time login session. At the top-left corner box, you may select Quick Connect for you to perform such step.
  • In a specific application, you can force it to open if you want to do a particular move on a file. You may select ‘Open With’, ‘Add Programs’, after you right-clicking a file. You may need to indicate the program you want to open where a specific file is located. Now, to set this up, you need to note that you have to browse the file executable on your hard drive.
  • Select Tools, Search/Filter after choosing the folder you want from where you make a search within. You may use a negative sign (-) to signal word and quotation marks exclusion for phrase searching, and you may use positive symbol (+) to indicate word addition when at the bottom of the screen you enter your search term in the box. For any reason you have several files on hand, you may need to use FireFTP tool for searching to find what you’re looking for.
