What is reciprocal link building? According to the Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, reciprocal link building is a mutual link between two objects, commonly between two websites to ensure mutual traffic.  Reciprocal link building is simply called link exchange. If the process of which two websites exchange their links to each other, they are linked reciprocally.  However, the process may be directly reciprocated or not. If the link is not reciprocated directly, it is not completely exchanged. To illustrate with, the webpage A in Mr. Blake website may be linked to the webpage B of Mr. Bach website. Mr Bach, in return, can link his other page i.e. Webpage A to Webpage C of Mr. Blake’s.

What’s the difference between reciprocal and inbound link building? Reciprocal link building as stated above is a mutual exchange while inbound link building or known as one-way link doesn’t necessarily exchange. For instance, Mr. Blake website can link a webpage to Mr. Bach website.

A three-way link building is under the umbrella of reciprocal link building but the only difference is that it involves three websites regardless who the webmasters are. (Some webmasters can make two or three websites). The process of which will be discussed separately.

Why do web masters need to link their website to one another?

First and foremost, every web master aims their website to be on the first rank. This can only be possible if their site is submitted to reciprocal link exchange directories. The search engine optimization (SEO) processes the link to attain the highest rank on any search engines. Though, there are a number of means to promote the site but still link building remain the best tool to make search engines rank your site on the first page. As a matter of fact, link building became buzz since Google, the most famous search engine; introduce the notion “PAGERANK”

There is no better link building either reciprocated or inbound. But one thing is certain; the spider of the search engine will find links of your site. The more links, the more visible your site is.
