How to become a TESDA Certified Computer Technician
You might wonder what is this certification all about especially if you are a 4 or 5-year course graduates of any computer related courses. Actually this TESDA exam is given to every students who finished their two-year course in a vocational school. This is to test their competency in their field of education such as Computer Hardware Servicing, Computer Programming, PC Operations and other 2-year courses. Graduates of this courses are mandated or obligated to take the exam. This exam is the counterpart of the board exam for degree courses.
Passing this exam will certainly add more substance to your resume. TESDA certification is not as popular as any of the IT certifications given by other certification body such as A+, Microsoft, java, etc.. But it is recognized locally here in the philippines and can be used as one of your major credentials when applying for jobs abroad.But what if youre not a graduate of a 2-year course? are you eligible to take the exam? Yes you are.
Here are few of the best steps to become a certified computer technician.
GET YOUR COLLEGE EDUCATION - For you to be allowed to take the exam you should be a graduate of 2 or 4-year or up course. Undergraduates who finished at least 72 units in college are allowed to get the exam as long as they enroll in a TESDA registered training centers that offer short courses Computer Troubleshooting and repair and PC Networking and Administration.
ATTEND IT TRAINING - IT Training for PC Repair and PC Networking will provide the needed skills to pass the exam. If you are fresh graduates of a 2-year Computer Technology course, you can directly take the exam but if you feel like your not ready yet dont even think abot it you will surely fail. For graduates of a Bachelors degree courses such as COmputer Science, Infomation Technoloogy, computer engineering and others. It will be a good idea to refresh your skills because in college there are no extensive hands on classes in PC Repair and PC Networking.
LOOK FOR A COMPUTER TECHNICIAN JOB OR RENDER OJT IN COMPUTER COMPANIES - Put on to practice all the skills you acquired so that you will not forget all that you have learned. Actually this can be optional. you can take the exam after your training. I bet you can pass it outright just choose the right training center.
STUDY REVIEW MATERIALS FOR THE EXAM - The exam covers topics in PC Repair and PC Networking and composed of written and oral/actual exam. Yes, pwede po kayo mgtraining ng tesda. pero hindi po kayo pwedeng mgtake ng exam kung wala po kayong 72 units na TOR sa colleges. yun po kasi ang isang requirements para sa NC2 exam. Thank You

The course duration for TESDA CHS NCII is 40 hours which will take for 5 meetings Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm schedule and 7 meetings if the schedule is every Saturday 3pm to 9pm. Thank you.
