The IT department is the one in charge when it comes to the devices, configuration and maintenance of all IT related peripherals. They are also the one who is capable of assisting customer queries when it comes to technical stuff. In every IT department, there will always be problems even if everything is well maintained. In this article, I will be talking about some of the common problems of the IT department.

Internet Outage - Having no internet is one of the critical problems for the IT department. Not all companies have backup internet connections to use during outage. If ever that your company has no backup connection, it could take a few hours or even days to fix it depending on the cause of the outage.

Power Outage - Here in the Philippines, it is very common to experience power fluctuations. When fluctuations happen, it could cause minor problems on some computers. It is very seldom that companies provide UPS for all computers to prevent problems during fluctuations. For the network related devices, it is a must to have it connected to a UPS so that if ever fluctuations occur, the said devices would not be affected. If network devices are... restarted, it might take a few minutes to boot which could possibly delay the operations of the company.

User problems - There will always be those users that does not like following simple instructions resulting to problems. Most users does not like reading memo's or instructions and will still ask for the IT department to fix the most simplest problem.

Office Migration - If ever that a company has decided to transfer to a new office, the IT department would be one of the busiest persons during the process. It is not a simple transfer from point A to point B because the IT department needs to redesign the current layout for it to be applied on the new office. New cables would also be needed if the said office is bigger than the previous one.

The problems above are the most common that the IT department usually faces. Most employees think that when you are an IT professional, you must know everything when it comes to computers because if you don't, they will assume that you are not good enough. Always remember that the IT department employees are only human and they are not robots. There would be times that there would be those out of this world errors that would pop up on your screens but good thing is, almost all solutions are available on the internet and the said errors could be resolved in no time.
