Advertisement - Some companies insert their advertisement on free programs in order to let the users know that they are offering or selling a certain product or service. Premium Version - Many freeware programs has this one wherein they let users download their free version on the net which only has the basic version installed. If the user wants to access the full functions of the program, the user has the option to upgrade the free version into... their premium version.

Donation - The easiest way for them to earn is thru donation. Some developers will display their PayPal account so that users who were satisfied with the programs could donate if they want to. Donation is only mandatory. If you really liked the program created, donating to their account would be big help for them.

In free games, you will be allowed to play for free but you also have the options to buy items that could help you improve your game. There would be several games that you will be forced to spend money especially if you are dead serious on playing.
