Some of you might already be thinking of buying an external hard drive or another hard drive for your computer due to low disk space. An additional hard drive could cost you thousands of pesos and as alternative, cloud storage comes in. So basically, what is cloud storage?

Cloud storage is an online storage of files which you could access anywhere as long as you have an active internet connection. Cloud storage is good for sharing files with friends and especially with your family. It would be a nice idea to have a common folder for you to share pictures and to store memories.

Cloud storage does not need advance skills in computers to have an account. You only need to register and you could start using it immediately. The free storage allocation would depend on the cloud storage host that you will be using.
Below would be some of the top free cloud storage that you could use.

Dropbox - This is one of the most popular when it comes to free online storage but users start only with 2GB of space but it could still increase and you'll know how when you are already using it. They also offer other plans... with fees for those who want higher storage capacity. I personally use this on my phone so that I could save some pictures directly to my Dropbox and it syncs automatically on my home computer.

Mega - This cloud storage site offers 50GB of free storage for users. It could also upload your files just like the feature of Dropbox. They do also offer storage packages if you want to upgrade to a higher storage capacity up to 4TB.

Mediafire - This site became popular even before Dropbox stepped in. This site could give you 10GB of space for starters and could possibly increase when you refer it to someone or for application downloads. It has been popular ever since due to users downloading applications using this site.

The above sites are only few of the free cloud storage available which you could use to store files. I picked the 3 sites above because I have used them first hand and that is why I could personally recommend them.

As I always say, never ever upload or store important files and sensitive information online. Always remember that when you are connected on the internet, you are not 100% safe. It would be a good practice to always make sure that your files and information are safe and secure.
