How to clean a virus infected computer! - level 2

If Doing the first level of removing viruses in your computer does not give you a positive result then its time to move to the next level of removing virus from your PC.

Try to disable the virus from its launch pad

Virus are triggered from two locations in your computer.these are from:
 
1. the Registry
2 and the Startup folder

To remove the program that will launch the virus in the registry you have to know how to edit your registry setting. Editing the registry is very easy as long as you know where you are going inside the registry. Just be careful to edit your setting because misediting the registry will render your computer inoperable.

Now lets start the editing process.

We are going to delete all entries inside the Run and RunOnce setiing in the registry located in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER and in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

1, Click Start. then click Run
2. Type regedit then click ok
3. Double click the HKEY_CURRENT_USER
4. Double click Software
5. Double click Microsoft
6. Double click Windows
7. Double click CurrentVersion
8. Click Run then In the right pane delete every entries that you dont recognize or anything that seem suspicious. If you are not sure what to delete just delete all the entries :) its ok your PC will still work
9. Click RunOnce delete all the entries here also

After deleting the entries in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER delete the entries located in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

10. Double Click the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
11. Do Step 4 to 9
12. Close the registry editor.

After editing the registry delete the programs in the Startup folder

1. Click Start
2. Select Programs
3. Select Startup
4. Right Click the files inside the Startup folder then delete
5  Do step 4 to delete other files inside the Startup folder

Then uninstall any suspicious programs installed in your computer Go to Control Panel and Click Add Remove Programs Uninstall all programs that you did not install. Just be careful cause you might uninsltall programs that your computer needs to run other applications like java etc..

Restart your computer and hope for the best

If this procedure does not work then its time to go the next level :)
