Some reasons that impede downloading quickly

Have you ever thought what your website is for? For your own business? How many users do you think visit your website? Are there necessary things they can get from your site? Do you think they can easily download from your pages? Come to think of these:
1. Always consider the size of your HTML by clicking right and proceed to the properties to check if the total files consist of kilobytes or megabytes.
2. One factor that truly affects downloading is the speed of the network connection or it has something to do with the modem speed. For a dial-up connection, it basically has approximately 56 kbps. For specific example, let’s take 56 kilobits or kilobytes per seconds (kbps). Take a look on this: 1 byte:8 bits. If 56 kilobytes is equivalent to 56 bits, which can be converted into bytes that is 84,000 bytes, it results in 672,000 bits by multiplying it into 8 bits (84,000x8). If you come up with 672,000, this must be divided into the speed which is 56,000 bits to get the result of 12seconds (672,000/56000=12) However, this can’t be accurately standardized measurement to the fact that there are other factors such as nuisance, network congestion and so on. And so therefore, it would be more appropriate and reliable if you test through downloading pages on your site by using a dial-up connection to appropriately give you exact time.

Some reasons impede downloading quickly

  1. Image optimization-The bigger the image sizes the slower the downloading most especially if the quality of the image overweighs the size of the file. This only means that you should not enlarge the image which may cause a long page because this bores users and eventually loses their patience in waiting. But of course, you should consider the resolution that must be as well attractive by balancing the size and quality on which the speed of downloading is not affected.
  2. Text and context - it is very important to know that text and context are both important when downloading though they are loaded quicker than images. If it consist more pages, it will slow down and it also makes downloader tired and this automatically loses the patience visitors.
  3. Format of the Files – JPEG and GIF are the most commonly types of images which function differently. JPEG stands for (Joint Photographic Experts Group) which is good for compressing images by simply adjusting it to the quality setting and GIF stands for (Graphics Interchange Format) that is best for large images considering colors, logos, drawings and diagrams. The adjustment of these images might affect the file size and quality; however, it would be better to use what considers the convenience of the users or down loaders without compromising the web pages.
  4. Images reuses - Once the images are cached or saved by the browser, they quickly pop up once it has been used frequently. Reusing the image is another factor to quicken the downloading. The best way to help you make your website more attractive and downloadable is using your images and logos in many pages in your website.

Aesthetically, your website is done to be spontaneously visited by other users. It is because they can access more information faster than what they thought considering the time and efficiency of the website.
