Texas, the newest location for Facebook's Data Center
The fifth data center would be used to better cater the needs of their users. As we all know, Facebook started 2004 and is now on the top of the list when it comes to social media sites and as of the moment, the number of users of the said social networking site is still continuously growing. We could even say that most computer users have their own Facebook account.
The said project would be their latest data center and it would also be using renewable energy. Putting up a data center in an area where the climate is a bit hot might be very intriguing to others but then again, they... have done it before and they would be hiring the same team to do it again.
Using renewable energy means that they will be able to save millions on electricity by using wind energy. Facebook started to use renewable energy not just to save money on electricity but it is also a source of clean fuel which means that it does not pollute the air like power plants do. It is said that Facebook will be investing around $500 million for the said project. The said project would also give jobs to residents near the area. It might also be the start for Texas to acquire tech companies that would also build their sites after Facebook's move.
Facebook is still on the process of upgrading their infrastructure for their users. Even if they are already on the top of the spot, they are still looking for better ways to improve their site and services. Lastly, some of you might wonder why the number of Facebook users is still growing to think that they are more than a decade old already. The answer if very simple, even until now, they are still finding ways on how to make it interesting and fun for users.
