The Only 3 Things You Need To Know About Your Skills
Believe me or not, there are only three things you need to know about skills. While others are being conventional, you can have better knowledge on how to hone your skills as you toggle along. Well, they’re not like the “1000 Secrets to Ultimate Knowledge”, (pardon if there’s one as I just made up this title). These are only simple facts on skills that are often forgotten because of discrimination. “Oh, she’s not one of us in the Ugawakabaluba Industry, she doesn’t know anything” (just made it up too). This notion is only few of day to day skills misleading criticisms.
Discriminations are very common. They’re something almost everyone experiences. Often times, scorns are used as cover ups for self-insecurities. She feels insecure and mocks other, the mocked feels hurt and covers up self-insecurity by mocking others as well. This makes skills misconception and discrimination infectious. No matter how painful destructive comments can be, that doesn’t mean they’re true. No one can dictate what you can do and what you cannot. Every skill is possible to be learned. Here are the three things you need to know about skills, so you’ll better insights how you can develop them:
Skills are investments. Your skills are capital for your employment. They are the best resources you can give for yourself if you want to have a fulfilling career. Unlike money and other material assets, they can’t be stolen from you. So, there’s no harm on spending for skills trainings. As long as you’re on reliable learning institutions, skills development will lead you to success.
Skills are interconnected like threads of web. Skills are interrelated. Here’s an example. It’s easy to program if you’re good on logic analysis. Programming requires logic analysis, like you need to know first addition before multiplication. Get it? Now, here’s how you can use this on your advantage. Take career trainings that are easy for you and are connected on your present skills, then seize the next level of skills training. Continue this until you get your most sought after skill or much better have a constant upgrade once in a while, so you’ll have the edge in your chosen career.
Skills are 20% natural gift and 80% determination. People have the wrong perception that achievers got on top because they’re gifted. They are blinded with the glamour. They are not aware of the journey. If you want to be on top, strive for it. Even geniuses move distances in order to get on top.
Like TV advertisement says, “It’s not what we have, it’s what we do with what we have”. Skills are unusable if they’re not honed. You’ve got to have better skills and more expertise than others in order to have a fulfilling career.
