As we all know, internet café’s can be found in almost everywhere here in the Philippines. Most owners of café’s are businessman’s who doesn’t have any a background in computers. Putting up an internet café without any computer background is not advisable. You must also learn the basics of computer for you to be aware and can’t be easily ****ed.

In this article, I’ll be giving some tips for owners to prevent being ****ed by your staff. I’ll also be giving tips on how to maintain your internet café’s.

Learn the basics – Even if you hired a computer technician to maintain your café, you must still know the basics. You must be aware of the parts of the computer both in and out. Basic knowledge is still better than no knowledge at all. I would also advise you to take a basic pc troubleshooting course and a basic networking course to better understand your café’s operation.

Inventory – Always keep your inventory updated and check it every now and then. If there would be defective items, don’t dispose it immediately or let your staff bring it home. It might still be good and your staff just wants it for his computer. One of the best ways is to ask a friend who knows computers and let him check it for you. This is the best way for you to know if your staff is just ****ing you or not. For those owners who don’t have any knowledge in computers, it might be possible that your staff is bringing home some small parts without you knowing. This is one of the most common scenarios in internet cafes. Keeping your inventory updated would do the trick.

Install surveillance cameras – A surveillance camera could act as your guard. You could even monitor it remotely from your home computer. You could monitor your employees if they are doing their jobs properly. This also prevents them from doing evil things like stealing money or equipments.

Cheap computer parts – As much as possible, you must have a contact with a computer store that offers cheap computer parts. This way, you can save and can also have discounts on buying items.

Backup computer technician – In an internet café, having even one computer that is not working could still be a loss for you. There would be a time that your technician is not around and problems starts to rise. This is why a backup technician is advised so that when your technician can’t come, there would still be someone who could help you in troubleshooting.
