There are Computer Short Courses out there that offer courses for Computer Networking. One thing I know about Network Administrator is its about everything. You need to know everything about LAN and WAN.
You should learn the Basics of Networking as well as intermediate and advanced networking before you can become a Network Administrator.
You need to learn how to design a network, crimp a cat5e cable, configure TCP/IP's of Computer workstations, setup a network printer, configure internet connection sharing, Setup a Firewall, Configure an internal and external Email Server, setup email clients, Backup a server, Install and setup a Database server, configure workstations to connect in the database servers, Maintain the company's database system such as backing it up daily.
You also need to know how to protect servers and workstations from virus infections and malicious intrusions and Denial of Service Attacks.
Well, to know all of the above skills you need to have HANDS ON Computer Short Courses to acquire the necessary skills to become a Network Administrator.
You need to get the following Short Courses from basic to advance level
You need to start with PC LAN/WAN SETUP, Cabling,Configuration, Wireless LAN Setup, Config, TCP/IP and Windows 2003 Server Active Directory Administration to get the Basic Skill of Computer Networking.
After finishing this course you can go to the next level which is Configuring and Troubleshooting Windows Server 2008 Active Directory then book your exam for Exam Code: 70-640 - Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring to become MICTP Certified.
After Passing your Microsoft Certification you can now get this course Exchange Server 2007 Configuration bootcamp to learn how to setup an Internal and External Email Server.
After learning the basic and intermediate networking courses You can go to advance networking courses such as CISCO 1 and 2 Routers and Routing Technology and CISCO 3 and 4 Switching and WAN Technologies after taking this courses you can now book your CISCO Exam 640-802 CCNA Exam
After passing your CCNA exam you can go to the next level and get this courses Implementing Cisco IP Routing , Implementing Cisco IP Switched Networks and Troubleshooting and Maintaining Cisco IP Networks then book your CCNP exams 640-902, 642-813 and 942-832. Most of our short courses is 30 hours of course duration good for 5 meetings.
