Have you ever heard of the word malware? Does it sound familiar? Allow me to give you an overview of what it is all about. In my previous articles I mentioned this term referring to virus; let us know malware in a clearer concept.

Malware is the short word for malicious software, mal for malicious and ware for software. It refers to software designed and developed to access the computer system without the permission or consent of the owner. The term malware is commonly used to refer to computer virus, including worms, Trojan horses, spyware bombs, and adware. Most professionals define malware as unfriendly or irritating software because of its effect to the computer. It gathers computer information without the consent of the user.

The basis to consider software to be malware is the purpose why it was created. But take note, it is not a flawed software. This software was created for a valid reason but it has codes/bugs that can harm your system. Ii is difficult for a computer user to identify malware because most of its program is beneficial.
In a previous report from one developer of antivirus software, they cited that malware is the frequent option of computer hacker to connect with different computer users through Internet specifically through e-mail and browsing other web sites. I can say malware is commonly acquired through Internet. Above all, experts mentioned that this is frequently acquired through email and it spread easily through email transaction.

Expert concludes that the spread of malware as a way of Internet crime was one of the culprit of the increase in numbers of infected Internet users. This was supported by the design of malware operating on infected computers.

As a computer user, you should not ignore the threat of malware. As I mentioned earlier, malicious software or malware are code or program created to be attached on your computer to get all its information and send it to the hacker. Always remember that malware were created for all computer users meaning even those who are working at home. Malware is capable of giving the hacker a full control over your entire computer system and sooner even your network. You should do something about it, how to avoid/fight malware.

What is the main symptom of infected computer? The main symptom is your computer will be very slow like a turtle. Once you have this experience, I advised you to stop any confidential on-line transaction like bank transaction or any card transaction. Make sure, you have an anti-virus installed in your computer it must have firewall and anti-virus. Also, these must be updated because almost every time new viruses were created.

Consequently, how can a computer user detect malware? With your updated anti-virus software, scan your computer from any malware (Trojans, worms, any viruses). Make sure that all detected virus be deleted immediately. If in case your anti-virus software is not capable of deleting infected file, try to download free virus removal over the Internet. If all this things won't work, it is advisable that your computer be reformatted an start installing new software application programs.

If you are planning to use your back-up files, make sure to install anti-virus software before transferring the files on your new formatted computer. This is to avoid the widespread of malware infection.
